Quarterly Report: 3rd Quarter 2009

Cure Alzheimer's Fund had another great quarter. Our Research Consortium has been making strides toward a cure, and people are taking notice. And, our supporters continue to find unique ways to raise much-needed money to help fund breakthrough research. Here are some highlights from the last 3 months. Vaccination and Immunotherapy for Alzheimer's Disease

Cure Alzheimer's Fund researchers - like Dr. Charles Glabe, Ph.D. - are thinking creatively to find a cure to Alzheimer's disease. Commonly associated with infectious diseases such as influenza and polio, vaccinations are one potential road to a cure for Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's researchers continue to overcome setbacks in initial vaccination techniques to develop second and third generation vaccinations and make progress towards a cure. Read more.

Lifetime Achievement Award in Alzheimer's Disease Research Given to Cure Alzheimer's Fund Research Consortium Member Virginia Lee

As a testament to the great work done by Cure Alzheimer's Fund Research Consortium Member Virginia Lee, she has been awarded the Khalid Iqbal Lifetime Achievement Award for 2009. Dr. Lee has focused her research on determining the genesis and roles of various normal and abnormal brain proteins (amyloid, tau, etc.) thought to be the keys to the cause and progression of numerous brain diseases, including Alzheimer's. Ladies Tennis Tournament Benefits Cure Alzheimer's Fund

In a grand show of support, participants in the 3rd annual Hay Harbor Tennis Tournament hit the courts to benefit Cure Alzheimer's Fund and raise money for critical Alzheimer's research. Read more.

Running to Fight Alzheimer's

Inspired by her grandmother who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, Maria Pugliese, ran the Buenos Aires marathon in support of Cure Alzheimer's Fund. Read more.
